Alongside regular class trips to support learning, we offer a planned program of residential visits to all children from Year 2 upwards.
We believe that our residential trips provide new and unique experiences for our children that equip them with skills for life. Children develop their confidence, independence, resilience and team working skills.
Cherry Garth Camp
Children in Years 2 to 4 are offered the chance to stay over on a 3 night residential camping trip to Cherry Garth Scout Campsite in Humberston. During the visit children sleep under canvas and take part in adventurous activities including the low ropes, bouldering and climbing walls, archery, den building, outdoor cooking and visits to the locality.
For many children this is the first experience of being away from home. The grounds are large and include a small copse which the children are allowed to explore independently.
Wick Court Farm
Wick Court Farm sits on the bank of the River Severn in the middle of the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside and is ran by Farms For City Children.
This is our longest residential trip – a full 9 days of activity! Children get the opportunity to experience life as a farmer: feeding, cleaning and tending to the animals; maintaining the allotments; cooking and cleaning the farmhouse.
