Broadening Horizons is a small setting attached to Western Primary School for children with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and behavioural needs. The base provides a wide range of support from very experienced, specialised staff to input strategies that support and encourage positive outcomes. We use a wide variety of intervention programmes and outside agencies to best meet the children’s complex needs. These programmes are bespoke, developed and being constantly assessed so that they work for the children.

Broadening Horizons covers the entire National Curriculum, from EYFS (Early Years) to the expectations of a year 6. Extra individual programmes are created to enable future success back to mainstream school. Being a part of Western Primary School gives the children access the classrooms and environment of a mainstream school and keeps them connected so that the transition back to their host school is successful.
