Western Primary School is part of the Federation with Scartho nursery School.

Western Primary School provides a stimulating environment where curiosity is welcomed, enquiry encouraged and an excitement of learning is fostered. We try to enhance the life of each child, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to take a full part in society.

We promote understanding and respect for democracy, tolerance, fairness and respect for self, others and the environment and encourage collaborative learning. We also enable pupils to distinguish between right and wrong and accept responsibility for actions and behaviours.

We enable each child to feel pride in their efforts and to have confidence in their own abilities.  We are striving to achieve a successful school of which staff, children, parents and the community will be proud and where all are welcomed, feel safe & secure and valued.

A huge well done to all 8 children involved in the Panathalon event last Friday. All children had so much fun taking part in this event which was made extra special by winning the whole competition! The children all won their own medal, they were given a T-shirt and certificate too and we also got a beautiful trophy which we have proudly put on display near the schools office!Well done Team Western! ... UPDATE FROM MRS LEACHDear Parents / Carers,Further to my letter earlier in the week, I am really sorry to inform you that following advice from Public Health, I have made the difficult decision to cancel the Christmas concerts this year. Cases in the area are rising fast and are much higher in the primary age range than our Yorkshire and Humber neighbours. It has been a very difficult decision to make – but easy in the fact that I want to keep everybody safe so that you all can enjoy Christmas at home with your families. The parties and cinema visit will be reviewed nearer the time. Kindest regards, Kim LeachExecutive Headteacher ... See MoreSee Less

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MRS LEACHDear Parents / Carers,As you are probably aware COVID cases are on the rise in the local area. Many schools are now taking more and more precautions as cases in the schools are rising. At Western, at the moment, we have been in a very lucky situation as we have had very few incidents amongst pupils, parents and staff but that could change very quickly. Whilst I am not making any drastic changes at this moment in time, I would appreciate it if you could wear a mask when bringing children onto the school grounds and when collecting children for the next three weeks. Please would you avoid coming into school including the office for any reason other than emergencies. In addition I need to pre warn you that there may have to be changes in the way the Christmas Concerts are held in school. It may be that numbers will be limited to 2 per child; and crèche and the serving of teas and coffees will not happen. It might even be that the concerts are cancelled and the more rigid restrictions that were in place last year may have to be put into place. As I have already said, apart from asking you to wear masks, I am not doing anything yet because fingers crossed our numbers are low – but anything can happen and I want you to be prepared in case things have to be changed. I really want to Christmas to happen in school and so any cancellations will be a last resort.Kindest regardsKim LeachExecutive Headteacher ... See MoreSee Less
